Hello. 

My name is Zack Alsolmi. My love of literature started as a child when I was introduced to one of the greatest detectives in fiction, Sherlock Holmes. I was fascinated with the character during my youth, and every time I visited London, I made it a priority to visit the Sherlock Holmes museum. My love for the field grew with me as I got older, and I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature. I became passionate about cinema more than any of the other fields in the major. Cinema, to me, is something magical. It can take us to so many places and experience all kinds of emotions, it is a place where we can watch humans, gods, monsters, heroes, villains, and whatever is in between and beyond. 

My aim for this blog is to take you on a journey to what is behind the lenses, to see what the film is trying to tell us, how well are the shots, how good is the story, and is the film worth the investment. There are so many things that a film can tell us about itself and so many things it can teach us about ourselves and I hope that with each film I review we can explore and discover something new in this marvelous world that is cinema.

Undoubtedly , Batman is one of the most complex characters in fiction. One of the things that make The Dark Knight so fascinating is the number of angles one can study him from, Allan More’s The Killing Joke brought a unique interpretation of Batman’s psychology as well as his arch nemesis The Joker, while Frank Miller provided a detailed origin of his early years in Year One . The same can be said for his adaptations in film, as Tim Burton brought him to theaters in 1985, and Christopher Nolan created his own trilogy starting with Batman Begins in 2005. Each brought his own interpretation and vision that provided a look at The Caped Crusader and his rouges gallery.
